For the first time in the history of the HCSO, a State of MS Law Enforcement Accreditation has been achieved through the commission that’s responsible for monitoring law enforcement agencies for compliance with 140 standards during a two-year assessment. HCSO joins seven other Sheriff’s offices throughout the State of MS in this effort.
Sheriff Jones decided in the summer of 2022 to seek accreditation for the HCSO and hired an expert in accreditation management to achieve this goal. After “eight months” of monitoring and assessment, the process was completed, garnering the department a certificate of accreditation for four years.
A special thanks to Bob Morgan for the commission, the accreditation manager, and the staff that played a major role in achieving this goal. Achieving this accreditation strengthens confidence in the citizens of Hinds County and those serving with the HCSO. It also recognizes professional excellence in the law enforcement community through best practices, policies, and procedures.
The Friends of Tyree Jones for Sheriff Re-election campaign kickoff and meet/greet was a huge success. Thanks to those that hosted the event, the many supporters in attendance, and those that contributed to the campaign. Also, thanks to The Weekend for facilitating the event.
It was refreshing to witness the support for the vision I have for Hinds County. I was able to address those in attendance and share that vision while also sharing the many successes since my administration has been in office. Although we continue to face challenges on a daily basis, I’m committed and prepared to face those challenges. I look forward to continuing to connect with the citizens of Hinds County while on the campaign trail and garnering more support while continuing to gain the trust of the people through transparency and productivity.
